Las Animas Distance Learning
Our goal is to stay connected so that we can support you in continuing your learning for the remainder of the school year.
Distance learning starts April 13. Learn more about GUSD's plan for distance learning. If you don't have internet access at home, please notify your teacher to let them know and say you do not have access. Hard copy packets will be mailed to students without internet access. If your child needs a Chromebook, please notify their teacher.
Each day, Las Animas students will have the opportunity to engage and stay connected with their teachers and classmates through:
Virtual class meetings
Teachers and students will meet online using tools like Webex
Teachers will set up virtual hubs, like Google Classroom, to assign and collect classwork
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN DISTANCE LEARNING
Step 1: Check your GUSD email
It is vital for students to access and regularly check their GUSD email. These accounts are where they will receive communications from teachers and schools. They also need them to access district-approved platforms like Google Classroom and Clever. If you or your child don't know how to access his or her GUSD email account, email your child's teacher(s).
Step 2: Log into Google Classroom
This is where teachers will assign work, post announcements and more. If your child needs the class code or doesn't know how to join the Google Classroom, please email your teacher(s).
Step 3: Join your class online
Starting April 14, classes will meet on Webex Mondays to Thursdays. Schedules will be communicated by teachers through email.
